Bandung, 02 April 2026 – The Directorate of Partnerships and International Affairs (DKUI), Faculty of Educational Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Design Education, and School of Postgraduate Studies, facilitated a visitation and partnership with Guanxi Normal University to discuss a potential partnership. Guanxi Normal University was established in 1932 and is now spread across three areas in China, with more than 20,000 local and international students and supportive learning facilities. Guanxi Normal University has 13 study programs that accept PhD and 56 study programs for Master degree.

Although UPI and Guanxi have already signed an MoU, DKUI is welcome and will facilitate the implementation of the agreement into further activities between Guanxi and UPI, both in the short and long term, due to the alignment of their respective university visions.

During the discussion between the two universities, UPI first offered a list of collaboration activities, including visiting scholars and professors (inbound and outbound), adjunct professors, degree and non-degree training abroad, student exchange programs (including summer school, non-credit and credit-earning), and international research collaboration. The representative of Guanxi shared that they are interested in the programs that UPI offered. However, they highlighted that the academic exchange programs, such as student or lecturer exchange and short summer programs, will be more feasible in the meantime, with the duration of a semester and a year. This is due to the concern about the different credit transfer system.
To conclude today’s discussion, UPI welcomes future collaborations and will facilitate all forms of partnership agreements for study programs at Guanxi Normal University and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI).
