MoU Signing Ceremony and Partnership Meeting Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia – AIDEM Inc., Japan

Bandung, 12 February 2026 – The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony and Partnership Meeting between Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) and AIDEM Inc., Japan, was successfully conducted on Thursday, 12 February 2026. The event aimed to establish and strengthen cooperation in education, human resource development, internship programs, and employment opportunities in Japan for UPI students.

The MoU signing ceremony was officially symbolized by the exchange of documents between Prof. Dr. Tri Indri Hardini, M.Pd., Vice Rector for Resources and Informatics System, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, and Mr. Kenji Kuribara, Director of AIDEM Inc. Corporation. The ceremony was attended by deans and representatives from the Faculty of Language and Literature Education and the Faculty of Sports Education and Health, as well as representatives from AIDEM Inc.

The meeting commenced with an introduction to AIDEM Inc., established in 1971 and headquartered in Tokyo, a recruitment and human resources services company operating across Japan. Over the years, the company has grown into a comprehensive HR services provider that supports job placement, workforce development, and international recruitment initiatives. Through AIDEM Global, the company collaborates with several Asian countries, including Indonesia, to facilitate the placement and support of foreign workers in Japan. AIDEM plays a key role in matching qualified candidates with partner companies, ensuring alignment between industry needs and candidates’ competencies, and providing structured assistance throughout the recruitment and adaptation process.

Under this collaboration, AIDEM offers structured internship and career development programs for UPI students. The internship duration ranges from two weeks to one year, depending on company requirements and academic considerations. The programs include Japanese language training, professional skill development, and pre-departure preparation to ensure students are ready for the Japanese work environment. Internship opportunities are currently available in sectors such as hospitality, caregiving (kaigo), engineering, and other potential fields aligned with students’ academic backgrounds. In addition, AIDEM provides on-site support through Indonesian staff based in Tokyo and Osaka to assist students with communication, workplace adaptation, and administrative matters.

Following the signing session, an interactive discussion and a Q&A session were held to clarify the technical aspects of the internship and employment programs. It was emphasized that students are responsible only for personal expenses such as medical check-ups and domestic visa processing fees, while no placement fee is charged, as service fees are covered by partner companies in Japan. The recruitment process consists of an initial screening conducted by AIDEM, particularly assessing Japanese language proficiency, followed by final interviews with the receiving companies. Japanese language proficiency was highlighted as essential, especially in sectors where workplace communication is predominantly conducted in Japanese. While priority is currently given to fields such as caregiving and hospitality, opportunities for other study programs may be considered, subject to academic alignment and company requirements. As a follow-up to the MoU, AIDEM will prepare a draft operational agreement for further review and formalization.

With the establishment of this cooperation, both parties expressed their commitment to developing sustainable international collaboration that provides structured internship pathways and broader career opportunities for UPI students in Japan.
